Two passengers killed by huge wave that slammed cruise ship off France

Giant waves hit cruise transport; 2 riders killed

Two riders aboard a cruise send were killed when 26-foot waves broken apart into the vas Wednesday, officials said. Equally any Every Bit fourteen others were injured.

The Greek Louis Cruise Notes ship gone off the French port of Marseille when it cost hit by "abnormal" waves, much more such than 26 feet (9 meters) last, cruise line spokesman Michael Maratheftis told CNN.

Fourteen others were dealt for light injuries, Maratheftis said.


The watercraft, the Louis Majesty, followed brushing under a Maltese flag and traveling from Barcelona, Spain, to Genoa, Italy, the Greek Public Ministry of the Technical Marine assured CNN.


The ship had 1,350 riders and 580 crew on board, the ministry said.


After being struck, the cruise send turned around and gone heading back to port in Barcelona.
